The internet is truly one of mankind’s greatest inventions, not just from a technology point of view but also sociologically. It has democratised the availability of knowledge and opportunities to an extent never even dreamt of before. It has also been incredibly effective at speaking truth to power.

However, the internet as we know it is under serious threat. The decline of print readership has severely impacted the ability of most publishers to operate profitably. Revenues from digital advertising are simply too low to offset the loss of print revenues.

This is because most forms of digital advertising are simply ineffective, so why would advertisers pay? This in turn is forcing publishers to increasingly erect paywalls. At the current rate, the future of the open internet is bleak, most valuable content, particularly journalism that’s critical towards maintaining healthy democracies will end up being restricted. The only free content will be of low quality and most likely fake. This is not the dream.

Our product FreeWall, is designed to solve this problem by providing advertisers with a much more effective form of advertising. In turn, they will be willing to compensate publishers to a greater extent, which means they can sustain themselves without resorting to a paywall.

Users get to freely consume the content they enjoy and value and all it costs is a second or two of their attention. Crucially, everybody has the capacity to “pay”, therefore keeping the dream alive of a truly open web which is rich in high quality journalism.

All Rezonites (as we like to call ourselves) are passionate about the digital ecosystem. We work hard to ensure publishers are able to sustainably monetise their content and we do this by helping delivering the very best digital advertising performance for the brands we partner with.

The team has a pioneering ethos to it. We are willing to do things differently (e.g. FreeWall) and take risks but we do so in a calculated manner. A question we always ask ourselves is “What is the best possible way to do something if you had to start from scratch?”. This ensures we always strive to build and deliver the best solution, not just the easiest or quickest.
